Aleksandras Stulginskis University in collaboration with the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture on 30th of March, has organized the seminar-round table discussion: “Assessment of EIP-AGRI project efficiency”.
Participants have been representing all target groups: EIP-AGRI focus groups, Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture, Lithuanian Agriculture Advisory Service, Chamber of Agriculture, members of EIP-AGRI Monitoring Group, farmers, researchers, agri-business. As well as special guest from Brussels Pacôme Elouna Eyenga (Team Leader – EIP-AGRI Service Point „Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability“), who presented the state of play of EIP-AGRI, opportunities and challenges of EIP-AGRI initiatives development for 2017.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture had initiated a research project called “Assessment of EIP project efficiency” asking our university to create a methodology and system of indicators that would allow to assess the efficiency of EIP group projects. The mid-term report has been prepared by research team of: prof. dr. Antanas Maziliauskas, assoc. prof. dr. Laima Taparauskienė, dr. Jurgita Baranauskienė, dr. Rasa Pakeltienė and PhD student Timur Kogabayev, and now it is a subject of discussing among stakeholders.
The main goal of this event was to create an open dialogue at local, regional, national and EU levels for better preparation and implementation of EIP-AGRI projects, with the following specific objectives:
- to build up a common understanding among stakeholders on EIP-AGRI concept and to identify restraining and driving forces that affect the EIP-AGRI impacts and benefits on farm productivity in order to better implement EIP-AGRI initiatives in Lithuania;
- to share the first experiences and practices from the first 4 EIP projects launched recently in Lithuania;
- to present mid-term results of the project “The assessment of EIP-AGRI efficiency” focusing on preliminary methodological insights.
The participants of the seminar-round table discussion shared their experiences, expressed expectations, future plans and discussed the possibilities of cooperation.
