Lecturer Otilija Miseckaite (Institute of the Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Water and Land Management) with the support by Erasmus+ teaching programme visited East Sarajevo University (ESU), Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina. She presented the lectures in the field of environmental engineering management in agriculture land and the possibilities for exchanges studies at ASU. During the stay at the ESU the possible cooperation in research, the inter-university cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus + program establish and strengthen the scientific cooperation were discussed with Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development Doc. Dr. Sinisa Berjan, International Cooperation Coordinator Ph. D. Slobodanka Krulj and Quality Assurance Coordinator Nenad Markovic.
Today the courses at the integrated University of East Sarajevo have been attended by approximately 13,000 students in 10 towns where 17 organizational units of the University are located, while the Rector’s Office, as an administrative center, is located in East Sarajevo. There are 56 academic programs of the first cycle, 47 of the second cycle 47 and 8 of the third cycle of studies. The University of East Sarajevo was established on 14 September 1992. In accordance with the Bologna process, which implementation started in 2006, the University was renamed into the University of East Sarajevo and since the academic 2007/08 it has become the integrated university, legal body consisting of 17 organizational units – 15 faculties and 2 academies.
After meetings and discussions at ESU, Otilija Miseckaite attended the 9th International Agriculture Symposium „Agrosym2018“ held on 4-7th October. „Agrosym 2018″ – the most important scientific event dealing with agriculture and rural development in the Balkan area. It is also becoming a scientific platform for the exchange of knowledge and good practices related to agriculture, food, rural development, environment and forestry.
The organizers of the International Agricultural Symposium “Agrosym 2018” are the University of East Sarajevo – Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture and the Mediterranean Agronomy Institute in Bari (CIHEAM – IAMB) Italy in cooperation with numerous universities, associations, canters and institutes from all over the world. AGROSYM is, since nine years, an annual platform for international scientific discussion on agriculture, food, rural development, environment and forestry. AGROSYM represents a good opportunity to exchange ideas, to strengthen existing and to create new academic networks, and to foster dialogue between the academia, public institutions, the private sector and civil society organizations on the recent global and regional trends in the agro-food sector. The 9th edition of the International Agriculture Symposium „Agrosym 2018” over 1200 contributions were presented to more than 1100 participants 85 world countries.
