Assoc. professor Dr. Jurgita Kulaitienė and lecturer Nijolė Vaitkevičienė (Institute of Agriculture and Food Science, Faculty of Agronomy) visited the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Poland on 7–11 May, 2018 under the Erasmus + training and teaching exchange programs.
Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences is a long-term partner of the Aleksandras Stulginskis University and Faculty of Agronomy. The visit in the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science, Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences was serve as the continuation of long-term cooperation between the faculties of the host and home universities.
Teachers got acquainted with the Poland higher education system, had the opportunity to communicate with students and lecturers. Nijolė Vaitkevičienė presented the lectures on topic “Potato consumption and processing”. Jurgita Kulaitienė acquired knowledge and competence in area of modern analytical methods which are used to assess the quality of the raw materials.
During the visit the teachers had a possibility to participate in the international scientific conference „Edible and Industrial Potatoes and their Processing“ and to make a presentations “Effects of Biodynamic Preparations on the Selected Quality Parameters of Potatoes with Coloured Flesh” and “The Effect of Cultivars on the Yield Parameters of Potatoes with Colored Flesh”. During the conference also were made new contacts with professors from Poland, Austria and Czech Republic.
The visit has given an opportunity for exchanging the ideas on future education and research cooperation’s, improving the academic relations between relevant institutions of both universities in the academic and scientific field.
